Through March, Fishers-based artist Tomás Howie’s collection of charcoal portraits will be on display at Hearthstone Coffee House & Pub in Fishers.
“The general idea is we’re trying to celebrate the extraordinary nature of everyday folks,” Howie said. “We all have a spirituality that transcends everyday life. Hopefully, the drawings have captured a bit of that.”
The exhibit is part of Hearthstone’s goal to be an “active member in the arts,” Howie said.
With the nonprofit Halycon Arts he and his wife run, Howie spends his time trying to bridge what he described as a disconnect between the arts and churches.
“Ordinary People” will be on display at Hearthstone Coffee House & Pub, 8235 E. 116th St., Fishers, through the end of March. More information about Howie and his work is available online at www.tomashowie.com. Information about Halcyon Arts can be found at www.halcyonarts.com.
