The Fishers Town Council adopted a resolution Monday night to place a vote on whether the town should convert to a city on the ballot for the 2012 general election. The long-awaited resolution comes in response to a petition of 1,700 signatures filed in May 2010 by the CityYes Political Action Committee in support of Fishers converting to a city. The resolution to place the vote on the 2012 ballot was approved unanimously. Councilman Michael Colby was absent for the vote.
