Carmel police have determined that a report of a potentially armed person making threats near Main Street and Range Line Road is unsubstantiated.
Officers responded to the area at approximately 2:15 p.m. Dec. 6 to investigate, shutting down the intersection and initiating lockdowns at nearby Carmel High School and Carmel Elementary School as a precaution. Dismissal at the elementary school was delayed because of the incident.
Police determined there is no danger to the public and have reopened the schools and intersection. The incident remains under investigation.
