Update: Steven Kasyjanski was arrested on two charges of possession of child pornography.

Local law enforcement and the Indiana State Police arrested a Zionsville man May 12 on two charges of possession of child pornography.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip alleging Steven Kasyjanski, 39, of Zionsville had used a social media platform to possess “child exploitative materials,” according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 11 a.m. May 12, the BCSO and members of the Whitestown Municipal Police Dept., Lebanon Police Dept., Zionsville Police Dept., the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office and the Indiana State Police searched Kasyjanski’s residence in the area of the 9300 block of Irishmans Run Ln., Zionsville, and arrested him.

Kasyjanski was booked into the Boone County Jail on charges of possession of child pornography – one a Level 5 felony, the other a Level 6 felony – BCSO Public Information Officer Wesley Garst said. Kasyjanski’s initial hearing is scheduled for May 18.

The investigation was conducted through the Indiana Internet Crimes against Children Task Force and its affiliate members.

“The Boone County Sheriff’s Office pursues this type of criminal activity to its fullest extent,” Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen stated. “With our recent investigator assigned to the ICAC joint task force, we will continue by getting more aggressive in pursuing these types of cases. Protecting our most vulnerable victims, our children, will always be our top priority.”
