Donatello’s Italian Restaurant to close in early April

Donatello’s Italian Restaurant’s last day of operations will be April 3.

Owners Pat and Beth Aasen, who have worked in the restaurant business for 40 years, plan to retire from restaurant ownership to spend more time with family and traveling. The restaurant at 9 W. Main St. has served the Carmel community for more than 10 years.

The Aasens announced the closure March 26 on Facebook.

“We’re proud of what we’ve done and it might seem like strange timing to close up shop now that people are getting vaccinated and weather is getting warmer, but it’s about more than that,” the Facebook post stated. “The last year has been tiring physically and mentally and all of us are looking forward to time to recharge.”
