Fishers Health Dept. limits restaurant service

Fishers Health Dept. issued a public health order on Dec. 22 that ordered all restaurants, bars, taverns, nightclubs, food establishments and others providing in-person food or drink services to close to indoor dining and cleared of customers between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Carry-out dining is permissible during those times. The order goes into effect Dec. 25 at 10 p.m. and remains in effect until 5 a.m. Jan. 8.

The order was made in effort to curb New Year’s Eve gatherings as COVID-19 cases continue to rise. As of Dec. 14, new positive cases for the first two weeks of December are 40 percent higher than new cases in the first week of December. The trends imply that Fishers likely will experience continued growth in new cases through January.

All previous public health orders remain in effect, including mandated face coverings when in an indoor place other than a private residence or when outdoors in a situation where a distance of 6 feet from individuals outside of their household cannot be maintained.
