Letter: Conversations can help lead to change

0

Editor,

Thank you for the cover article on Black Carmel residents. And thanks to those who were interviewed for the article. It was insightful and very sad to read they or their children have personally experienced derogatory remarks because of their skin color. Rona, I am truly sorry we still live in a world where you have to fear for your son out on an early morning run. I believe your fear is sadly justifiable. I also believe all of these conversations will help us move toward real, permanent change.

Mary Mundth, Carmel
