ISDH reports 1,589 additional COVID-19 cases

The Indiana Dept. of Health today announced 1,589 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19. To date, a total of 149,166 Indiana residents are known to have had the new coronavirus, following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,727 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19, an increase of 23 from yesterday. Today’s update includes 11 newly confirmed deaths that occurred between Sept. 17 and Oct. 3, according to the ISDH. Another 233 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data is received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 1,564,722 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,555,437 on Sunday. A total of 2,533,863 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the ISDH since Feb. 26.
