Pet Wellness Clinic has opened a new facility at 13080 Grand Blvd. in Carmel to serve the veterinary needs of a growing area.

“This will be our ninth location. We try to locate these things within a radius of each other so that it’s convenient for everyone to get to our clinics,” Pet Wellness Clinic CEO and veterinarian Michael Graves said. “The whole (business) was motivated by making it convenient and cost-effective for people to take really good care of their pet.”

The clinic offers a unique pricing structure known as Pet Prime. Clients pay a monthly fee to receive vaccines, preventative medicines and unlimited office calls.

“To get all of those preventions for a dog or cat for the year can be expensive in a lump sum,” Graves said.

Carmel resident Dr. Ben Ealing is the primary veterinarian at the new location, which is just west of the Arts & Design District.

“(Ealing) is from this area. He lives real close to the hospital, so he knows a lot of people here and he knows the market,” Graves said.

Graves said Pet Wellness Clinic strives to make visits as efficient as possible.

“The longer that you’re in the hospital, the more stressed that your animals get, so we want to get you in and out of the hospital in a reasonable amount of time,” he said. “When you leave, we want you to go, ‘Wow, that was just a great visit.’ We want to have the dog wagging his tail coming in and the people smiling.”
