State reports increase in COVID-19 deaths, cases

The Indiana State Dept. of Health announced today that 981 Indiana residents are known to have COVID-19, the disease stemming from the new coronavirus. To date, 24 Hoosiers have died from the disease, 8 of which were from Marion County.

A total of 6,936 tests have been reported to the ISDH, up from 4,651 on Wednesday.

Marion County has reported 484 positive cases, more than any other county. Hamilton County has reported the second most cases, with 52 residents testing positive for the disease.
