Bloomerang co-founder Jay Love said his firm is one of the fastest- growing tech companies in the Midwest. It’s growing fast enough to require expanding into a building across the street from the current office at 5724 Birtz Rd., Lawrence.

“In conjunction with the Fort Benjamin Harrison Reuse Authority, we built our own 21,000-square-foot building two years ago, and we have now about outgrown that,” Love said. “We are about 105 individuals strong and adding three to five people per month. With that, we saw this adjacent property directly south of our existing building that not only was this wonderful grand old lady of a building we could remodel, but it also is in an opportunity zone so we could take advantage of all new laws and regulations surrounding opportunity zones.”

When the 13,500-square foot building at 9120 Otis Ave. is remodeled, Bloomerang will move a few of its departments to the new building and utilize the connected parking lots. The new building also provides an additional 50 parking spaces for employees.

“It is an unbelievable structure in that it’s all reinforced steel and concrete,” Love said.

Renovations on the building began this month, and Love expects Bloomerang to take occupancy in April.

“We are delighted to be a part of the whole revitalization of the Fort. It’s become an ideal place for us and our employees,” Love said.
