Riverview foundation masquerade ball to benefit new infusion center

Just a few days after Halloween, an event from the Riverview Health Foundation will keep guests dressing up.

From 6:30 to 11 p.m. Nov. 2, a black-tie masquerade ball will be held to raise money for the recent expansion of Riverview Health’s Courtney Cox Cole Infusion Center.

Megan Wiles, executive director of the Riverview Health Foundation, said the organization typically only holds an event like this every three years. In 2016, the foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary, and this year, those involved are marking the opening of the infusion center, which will begin serving patients in November.

“We’ll have a program where we are highlighting the generosity of the donors who have helped to make this infusion center possible, especially focusing on Courtney Cox Cole, her parents, Jackie and Dave Cox, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Darren and Monica Peck,” Wiles said. “We have a presentation that will highlight the family.”

Cole, from which the infusion center earned its name, died Sept. 22 at age 48 after a 5 1/2-year battle with lung cancer. She was treated at Riverview Health’s existing infusion center, and in June, the family donated $500,000 to help expand the facility.

“This event has been in the works for more than a year, and it’s even more special now because we are naming the infusion center after Courtney,” Wiles said. “We’ll have an opportunity to celebrate her wonderful spirit and positive energy and the mental toughness that she had through her battle. We really want to be able to celebrate her incredible, generous spirit and kind heart.”

Guests also can enjoy live and silent auctions, a golden ticket opportunity, dancing and live music from the band American Cheese. Dan Spehler of Fox 59 will emcee the event.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. At 8 p.m., guests will enjoy dinner and a program, followed by a live auction. Music and dancing will commence at 9 p.m.

Individual tickets can be purchased for $200, and individual table and corporate table sponsorships are available for $2,500 and $3,000, respectively. To register or donate, visit riverview.org/classes/riverview-health-foundation-masquerade-gala.
