Miami, Fla.-based Sitel Group has announced that it will open a call center in Fishers. According to a company press release, the call center will cost more than $4 million and employ 350 people.

The center is being billed as a “Midwest customer service hub,” according to the press statement. The building is planned for 9999 E. 121st St. Sitel said it expects to be operational by the end of the fall and plans to fill all 350 positions by the end of 2020.

Sitel Group provides customer service call-center agents for an array of service- and -insurance-industry companies.

In a statement, Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness welcomed the company.

“Sitel’s global presence and commitment to community will be a welcome addition to Fishers’ business community,” Fadness stated. “Our shared core values in entrepreneurship and innovation make today’s announcement more than establishing their Midwest flagship operations, but also a new partnership in our efforts to make Fishers a smart, vibrant, and entrepreneurial city.”

To attract Sitel, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered more than $2 million in tax credits. The credits will not be claimable until after the new call center is operational and Hoosiers have been hired. The City of Fishers has not offered additional incentives, but the IEDC said Fishers may consider them

Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger said in addition to tax credits, Sitel was attracted to Indiana by what Schellinger said is a strong workforce.

“This company operates all over the world and had a number of options for growth, even here in the Midwest,” Schellinger said. “We’re extremely grateful to welcome them to Indiana, where hundreds of Hoosiers will benefit from the quality career opportunities this expansion will create.”

According to Sitel, most of the jobs at the call center will be in claims adjusting. Applications for jobs at Sitel’s new office are online at jobs.sitel.com.
