Carmel library’s Visiting Author Series hits the road

By Riya Chinni

Author Susan Crandall will pay a visit to Carmel Senior Living at 13390 N. Illinois Street to promote her new book. The event will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 18 as part of the Carmel Clay Public Library’s Visiting Authors Series.

Crandall’s coming-of-age book, “The Myth of Perpetual Summer” is set in the 1960s and features the main character, Tallulah, taking a journey to Southern California in search of family secrets.

“We usually have 85 percent of (the Visiting Author Series events) at the library program room,” XXX Lisa Hargis said. “But we’ve recently discussed having this at (Carmel Senior Living) for the people who might not be able to make it to the library.”

Crandall will discuss her novel and sign books during the free event. Books will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be offered.

Register for the event can by emailing Hargis at or calling the CCPL Foundation at 317-814-3984.
