Neal Upton wanted to enhance TeleWebTech’s presence in Carmel.

The business, which is in its 10th year, recently moved its office to 431 Range Line Rd. in downtown Carmel.

“We wanted to be here and have a presence,” said Upton, founder and president of TeleWebTech. “People are anxious about doing business in the cloud and doing business with cloud-based providers who don’t have a local presence. We have an office with a sign and people can come in and talk with us. We thought it was important for our business that we are visible.”

TeleWebTech opened in Fortune Park in northwest Indianapolis and moved to Carmel six years ago in a converted stable Upton owned six years ago. Upton has lived in Carmel for seven years.

“We do voiceover IP (Internet Protocol) to business and we land those in the cloud,” Upton said.

The main services, Upton said, are internet-based communications for small business, find me/follow me, voicemail to email, extensions on any device, Interactive Voice Response and clientless video conferencing.

“One of the things we have the ability to do is have an interactive auto-attendant,” Upton said. “When I’m having trouble with robocalls, I forward my cell to one of my temporary numbers and I have a simple auto-attendant that says to talk to ‘Neal, press 1.’ Robots can’t do that. That eliminates robocalls.”

Upton said most of his customers are small businesses.

TeleWebTech is owned by Upton’s wife, Jean.

“She manages the books and keeps us in line,” he said.

Neal Upton co-owns Prescient Information Systems, which provides custom computer programming services.
