Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine held a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 19 at its new Carmel office at 13345 N. Illinois St.

The office is the business’ 15th location and serves as its new headquarters. Goodman Campbell partnered with multiple companies, including REI, Cornerstone and CSO, to construct the two-floor building featuring modern furnishings, elevators and inpatient units.

“In addition to patient care, our administration, our billing people, our pain anesthesiologists and our clinical spaces will all be here,” President Jean-Pierre Mobasser said. “We may have outposts in other places, but this is going to be where most of our patient care occurs.”

Mobasser said Carmel is the ideal market for patients because of the city’s rapid growth.

“Health care is changing so rapidly that it’s really hard to keep up with it sometimes, especially because building an office takes a year-and-a-half to do,” he said. “Carmel is one of the most rapidly growing areas of the country. We’re very happy with the timing of opening our new office, and we’re strengthening relationships with certain hospital systems as our relationship with IU unwinds.”

Mobasser said the office’s proximity to nearby hospital systems also was crucial in the decision-making process for the new location.

“It’s a very busy area, and it’s become somewhat of a medical corridor with St. Vincent Carmel right down the street,” he said. “There are lots of medical practices along Meridian Street, so this seemed to be a good position to service areas such as Carmel, Westfield and Indianapolis. It’s sort of the sweet spot for all of those geographic locations.”
