Letter: Jensen knows what works

Editor,

I’ve lived in Noblesville nearly my entire life.  I graduated from NHS, have worked in our community, served on numerous volunteer boards, was a city councilman, and even ran for Mayor.  I love our community; both the old and the new aspects of her.  Noblesville has come so far in the past 12 years, but I believe her greatest potential still lies ahead.

For the past 10 years, I’ve worked with Mayors all over Indiana.  I’ve seen a few really great mayors and I’ve seen some very mediocre mayors.  I’ve witnessed what qualified, visionary, dedicated mayors can achieve for their communities.  I’ve also seen how quality of life, economic development, and community pride can disappear when the wrong person is elected.

Newly elected Mayors face the greatest issues.  While they think they know what needs to be done, once they take office, they find they are drinking from a firehose.  It takes most new mayors two years to even begin to get their arms wrapped around all the issues that face them.  In our fast paced, ever changing world, two years wasted can never be gotten back. The opportunities that inexperience allow to pass our community by, are never recovered.

This election we have some fine individuals running for Mayor of Noblesville.  I believe that each of them wants to do what’s best for our community.  I believe each of them have their heart in the right place and really do want to serve the people.  However, only one of them has the level of experience and ability to preserve our heritage and still keep Noblesville moving forward; Chris Jensen.

Chris has been involved with state and local government his entire adult life. He has worked with the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, and State Legislators.  He has the connections, the personality, and the ability to bring the right people to the table in order to solve major infrastructure, economic development, financial, and other issues faced by our community.

Chis has worked with Mayors all over the state and has built a vast knowledge and wealth of experience regarding what works and what doesn’t on the local level.  He has developed a network of local government office holders that he can turn to for advice and counsel.  And, yes, Chris will also be drinking from a firehose that first year in office, but it will be a trickle compared to what the other candidates will face if elected.

If you want to see Noblesville reach her potential while still maintaining her uniqueness, then Chris Jensen deserves your vote on May 7.
