In his new position, Norton will help municipalities such as counties, cities and towns in Indiana and throughout the ms region in developing day-to-day management of all administrative and governance functions. He also will help secure avenues of financing for capital and economic development projects.

“I am excited to join this great firm as a consultant and use my years of economic development and municipal executive experience to assist current and future ms consultants’ client municipalities all across Indiana and the ms region,” Norton stated.

Norton comes to the private sector after spending much time in the public sector, his most recent position was town manager of Whitestown. Norton began his role with Whitestown in 2013, where he was instrumental in leading the community through a period of rapid growth and development. During his time with Whitestown, Norton closed economic development projects which brought approximately 1,600 jobs to the area. Norton also assisted in securing state and federal funds designated to finance Whitestown’s infrastructure and public safety.

Norton submitted his resignation letter to the Whitestown Town Council on Jan. 2, where he wrote, “The decision to begin a new career in the private sector was not easy. It was certainly bittersweet. I will miss this staff family, and I will always cherish our collective accomplishments.”

However, he also has served in public sector roles for the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Boone County Economic Development Corporation and Blackford County Economic Development Corporation.
