CFD releases photos of damage caused by explosion at Carmel High School

The Carmel Fire Dept. released several photos showing damage inside of Carmel High School after an explosion in a second-floor mechanical room Dec. 26.

Two people doing maintenance near a boiler suffered burns during the incident and were taken to Eskenazi Hospital. Their families have asked for privacy and have not provided updates on their condition.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation. Firefighters determined the boilers were not faulty.

Events at CHS have been cancelled until further notice.
