The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office stated the county dispatch center has received multiple bomb threat calls.
The threats are targeting seemingly random businesses across the county, and dozens of threats are occurring nationwide. The caller demanded Bitcoin crypto-currency in each case. Several law enforcement agencies nationwide have deemed the threats non-credible at this time.
As of 3 p.m. Dec. 13, Hamilton County had received 10 bomb threat calls. The calls began in the early afternoon.
Local law enforcement is investigating the threats made within Hamilton County.
