Wine lovers will be able to enjoy a drink while helping a good cause on June 25. The Catherine Peachey Fund will host the fourth annual Wine Tasting with Peachey event from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Peace Water Winery in Carmel.
“The Catherine Peachey Fund raises money for breast cancer research in the state of Indiana,” said Stephanie Lesher, director of The Catherine Peachey Fund. “We granted approximately $3 million over the last 24 years. We are a 100 percent volunteer organization. About a year and a half ago we joined The Heroes Foundation, which is another local cancer organization in Indianapolis.”
The event costs $30 to attend. Guests can choose to do a wine tasting or enjoy a full glass of wine.
“We will have appetizers and desserts for everyone to enjoy,” Lesher said. “We’ll have some live music on the back patio. Kendra Scott is doing a pop-up shop for us at the event. Then they will donate back 20 percent of what they sell.”
CPF hopes to raise $10,000 through the event.
“It’s always held at Peace Water Winery in Carmel,” Lesher said. “They have a very philanthropic approach to their business. It’s a lovely fit. We do it on a Monday evening because they’re generally not open. They do events like ours to help support not-for-profits in the area. We love working with them.”
The focus of the evening is to enjoy the company of other guests while helping a worthy cause.
“We will have a short program with one of our researchers just to let people know a little bit more about the work we do,” Lesher said. “Once they’re there, we really want this to be a fun night for them and want this to be an opportunity for people to learn about the fund.”
