FIRST FRIDAY

From 6 to 9 p.m. April 6, Nickel Plate Arts will host its monthly First Friday event at its campus at 107 S. Eighth St. First Fridays are packed with work from community artists. A cash bar is available, featuring beer and wine from local producers, along with live music. Explore the Young Artists 2018 exhibit, featuring artwork from elementary-aged students from Noblesville Schools and a showcase by illustrator Ailithir O. McGill, with a small feature of artwork by Linda Cordial.

SOPHIE DOELL EXHIBIT

Through the month of April, Hamilton County Artists’ Association is hosting the work of local artist Sophie Doell at the Noblesville Visitor’s Center, 839 Conner St. The exhibit is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. and is free to view.

AILITHIR O. MCGILL SHOWCASE

Each month, Nickel Plate Arts presents a showcase of artwork by a local artist or art group inside its Stephenson House Gallery. For the month of April, the arts organization will feature the works of its director, Ailithir McGill. McGill is an experienced illustrator, having recently illustrated the children’s book, “The Owl and the Pussycat.” The free exhibit is open to the public from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

YOUNG ARTISTS 2018

For the month of April, Nickel Plate Arts will exhibit the works of Noblesville Schools’ budding Basquiats. Artwork by the area’s elementary students will be on display from April 6 to 28. The exhibit, at the Nickel Plate Arts campus, 107 S. Eighth St., is free.

BIRDIE GALLERY DROP-IN STUDIO

The Hamilton County Artists’ Association’s Birdie Gallery, 195 S. Fifth St., is open from 1 to 3 p.m. each Thursday for the public to take part in an open studio session. All are welcome, from novice to experienced, at no cost. Come with your supplies, and create in the company of others. For more, visit hcaa-in.org.
