Carmel resident Brooks Blackmore died at age 6 in May 2016 after battling a rare form of brain cancer. But Brook’s Hero Fund, set up through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, continues to raise money for cancer research.

During the fundraiser, all purchases made at Holder Mattress, 200 S. Range Line Rd., Suite 119, will be free of sales tax.  At the register, customers will be given the option to donate the money they’ve saved to the “Be Brooks Brave” Hero Fund. Customers also can donate at collection jars set up around the store. Holder Mattress will provide a link to the donation page for Brook’s Hero Fund on its website for those who want to donate online.

The “Be Brooks Brave” Hero Fund raises money for research into high-grade gliomas, the rare type of brain tumor that affected Blackmore.
