The annual Women’s Gathering at Zionsville Presbyterian Church can be an opportunity to meet other women, share and self-evaluate.
This year’s theme, “Find Rest,” fits with the goal co-organizer Eileen Davis has for participants.
“It’s a day away from the real world,” she said. “It’s a day of rest and peace, a world-free moment. I hope (women) capture something through the day that they can continue to build on and cherish. It’s about strengthening your faith.”
To continue the discussion after the Feb. 24 gathering, Davis said a book club is being launched. The book selections tie into the “Find Rest” theme.
Keynote speaker Paula Taylor will share information about women’s ministries, help women accept imperfection and care for a healthy soul.
Taylor will guide participants in a spiritual practice to create a collage reflecting areas of peace.
“It’s not about how artistic you are,” Davis said. “It’s about getting your thoughts down on this memory board.”
Taylor is a pastor of adult discipleship at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church in California. She was worked closely with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and SHAPE (Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience). Four years ago she helped ZPC initiate a home group to discuss the Sunday sermon in depth.
“What I like about her is it’s a women’s gathering and she specializes in women’s ministries,” Davis said. “She’s big on not getting hung up in the outside world.”
The Women’s Gathering will be at Zionsville Presbyterian Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $30 per person before Feb. 18, or $40 for two people. After Feb. 18, admission is $40 per person. Register online at: zpc.org/event/1061140-2018-02-24-find-rest–2018-womens-gathering.
