Candidates file for Boone County primary

The filing period for the May 8 primary election opened Jan. 10, and several candidates officially committed to running for office within a week. The filing deadline is Feb. 9 at noon.

As of Jan. 18, the following candidates have filed for offices in the primary election:

Other positions up for election are Boone County Council District 2 and the Sugar Creek, Clinton, Jefferson, Worth, Harrison and Jackson Township trustees. In the Nov. 6 election, voters also will elect positions on the Lebanon, Western Boone and Zionsville school boards as well as additional positions in Advance and Thorntown.
