For Leah Cupps, it seems right to share her message how ‘mompreneurs’ can grow a business while working from home.

Her book, published in September, is “#MomsLife Inc: 7 Essential Lessons for Building a Million-Dollar Start-Up as a Busy Mom.”

“I go through the principles I followed and the lessons I learned and share those and give chapter challenges with each chapter that help people implement the ideas that I expressed in the book,” Cupps said.

The Noblesville resident said it took about nine months to finish the book.

“I was always an entrepreneur before I had kids,” Cupps said. “I had a freelance design business. I worked from home, and my husband did as well before I had kids.”

Cupps, 38, launched a company with her husband David in 2014. Their children are Savannah, 4, and Lincoln, 1 1/2.

“We wanted to do something that would allow us both to be independent and work from home,” Cupps said. “We both had that vision. We sold the company to a private equity group in 2017. During that time, my husband would be gone three or four nights a week (selling medical supplies). I had to juggle running the company three hours a day while my daughter was in preschool and in evenings. Eventually, in the last year we had the business, he was able to quit his job, and we both ran the company full time.”

Cupps said the book is full of advice and lessons she learned along the way.

Cupps said while she can’t name the business she sold, it was a physical products business.

“We found products in demand on Amazon and then branded our own line of products and sold those on Amazon,” she said.

She is starting a new businesses now.

“I give advice on how to delegate your time, how to invest in your education, how to take calculated risks,” Cupps said. “I talk about the steps I take when I’m taking risks. For instance, accepting your worst fear before you get started. That’s the type of advice I give to moms who want to run an online business and have time for their family as well.”

The book is available through amazon.com. For more, visit momlifeinc.com.
