“The Nutcracker,” Basile Theatre, The Athenaeum, Indianapolis

For the third year, the Ballet Theatre of Indianapolis presents Tchaikovsky’s holiday dance classic, which includes the addition of a new Drosselmeyer, Sugar Plum Fairy, Cavalier, Nutcracker costumes and choreography for “Waltz of the Flowers” and “Dance of the Mirlitons.”

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” Civic Theatre, the Center for the Performing Arts, Carmel

Told entirely through song, the Civic Theatre production follows the journey of Joseph as he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers but uses his intelligence and wit and his ability to interpret dreams to advance and become the right-hand man of Pharaoh.

In the dinner theatre’s 25th annual holiday production, a huge cast performs a glittering array of music and dance numbers, presented in a variety show format. The show will go on hiatus after this year.
