The Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre will offer an inclusive performance of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at The Tarkington in Carmel.
An inclusive performance includes accommodations for sensory sensitivities, mobility issues and other special needs. Slight modifications to the production will make the experience accessible for audience members with sensory differences, according to the news release.
Some elements include keeping the house lights up, adjusting overwhelming sound effects, adjusting house rules for talking and moving, additional seating options for those with mobility devices and an American Sign Language interpreter upon request.
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” runs from Dec. 15 to Jan. 7.
In 2014, the Civic Theatre offered the first inclusive performance in the state with “The Cat in the Hat.”
