Climate change focus of Boone County Voices for Change event

Boone County Voices for Change, a non-partisan organization focused on bringing together community members to discuss a variety of timely issues, will host a presentation on climate change in Indiana at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Whitestown Municipal Complex, 6210 Veterans Drive.

Melissa Widhalm from the Purdue Climate Change Research Center will discuss observed trends and predicated changes in several key climate and water variables based on a new local analysis conducted for the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment. She will also discuss how shifting climate patterns translate to tangible changes in daily life in Boone County.

Widhalm is an operations manager with PCCRC and serves as the coordinator for the IN CCIA. She holds a M.S. in natural resources with an emphasis in climate assessments and impacts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a B.S. in meteorology from Northern Illinois University.
