Westfield resident William Moit charged by federal grand jury with receiving child pornography

According to a press release from the United States Dept. of Justice, William Moit, 70, currently of Westfield, was indicted for receipt of child pornography.

Moit was formerly a resident of Rensselaer but now resides in Westfield. He was convicted in Jasper in 2000 for possessing child pornography and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was charged through a federal indictment with receiving child pornography.

Those with information regarding Moit’s activities with children are encouraged to contact Task Force Officer Jones at Federal Bureau of Investigation at 219-942-4900. An indictment is only an allegation and all persons charged are innocent until proven guilty.
