Preliminary awards in four categories and other special honors were presented on night three of the Miss Indiana Scholarship Pageant in Zionsville, Ind. The 35 young women competing for the title of Miss Indiana competed onstage in the categories of Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, Talent, Onstage Question and Evening Wear. Preliminary awards are presented for Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit and Talent. Talent winner for night three was Miss Wabash Valley Caroline McKinney of Fishers. McKinney, 24, is a graduate of Purdue University. Miss Metropolitan Haley Begay was crowned as Miss Indiana 2017. Begay, 19, of Pittsboro, attends Indiana University in Bloomington where she majors in journalism and Spanish. Her personal platform is “Don’t Silence the Violence: Domestic Violence Awareness” and her talent is a vocal performance of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. Additionally, she won preliminary awards in Interview, Talent and Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit. She will represent Indiana at Miss America in Atlantic City in September. (Submitted photo)
