“That’s kind of our niche,” GadellNet CEO Nick Smarrelli said. “We provide everything from 24/7 help desk services to cyber security to consulting. The biggest part of our business is the general IT.”

The partnership began with a meeting earlier this year. Both companies found similar ideologies in their business practices.

“We were introduced to them earlier in the year and found there was a really good value fit. We also found there was a good technology fit,” Smarrelli said. “Those were the two biggest characteristics for anything we do. They get our culture and the way we handle clients and also know and use the same technology that we use. It was really a win for us.”

GadellNet hired the two-person Blue Key technology team. Smarrelli is glad to have the new, experienced team members.

“We get two more incredibly smart people who value the way we do things internally and value how technology helps support and enable small businesses,” he said. “Our big mission is using technology to transform business. For us, it allows us to serve our clients better with faster response times, faster resolution times and more capable individuals. Those two people not only have technology experience, but they have experience running a business.”

GadellNet has seen rapid growth in 2017 and has hired five new employees since the beginning of the year. It plans to move to a larger office space in Carmel in June. The company launched in 2003 and has grown to include a location in St. Louis.

“We continue to grow at a pretty elevated pace,” Smarrelli said. “What that means for the City of Carmel is more people buying, shopping and moving around the city.”
