The Fishers Farmers Market needs volunteer help from city residents to work as ambassadors through the spring and summer. Volunteers will welcome and greet guests as they arrive.

“We are excited to introduce our new Fishers Farmers’ Market Ambassador program, which gives volunteers the opportunity to assist with various aspects of the market,” said Kara Hall, marketing and public relations manager. “The Ambassador role is the most important role at the market, as it serves as the welcoming face and is often the very first interaction people have with the market. Volunteers will also serve as an informational resource and customer/vendor assistant within the farmers market community.”

The market is looking for six volunteers per week to work from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers who sign up for more than four shifts will receive a free T-shirt.

“You can just sign up for whatever shift you would like. We definitely encourage people to sign up for more than one week, but it depends on their schedule,” Hall said.

Last year, the Fishers Parks and Recreation Dept. operated the market.

“This is the first time we’re doing the ambassador program, so we’re really excited to do it,” Hall said. “As we’re growing, we’re looking at how we can reach out into the community and include them.”

The market is open through Sept. 30 and will include specialty days throughout its run.
