Judy Zimmerman, 62, of Westfield, died April 19 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 6, 1954 to Vaughan A. and Peggy E. (Plott) Kaforke in Roanoke, Va.
Judy was a 1972 graduate of North Central High School. She pursued a career at Howard W. Sams Co. as a Graphic Illustrator until 1989 when she and her husband, Russ, started their family. During her children’s school years, Judy was very involved in the activities of being a Room Mom and the PTO as well as extracurricular activities, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and soccer. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and was an avid reader. Judy’s life revolved around her family and her dogs and she derived great pleasure in the successes of her children and the unconditional love of her dogs. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Carmel.
Her memory will be everlasting and will be cherished forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Russell R. Zimmerman; her daughter, Brittney Zimmerman; her son, Christopher Zimmerman; brothers, Stephen Kaforke and Timothy Kaforke; her sister, Betsy Shackelford and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
