St. Simon the Apostle School third grade teacher Mary-Bridget Adkins was selected as the Edge Guys Heating and Cooling February Teacher of the Month. Adkins was nominated by student Andrew Taylor. As a reward, Andrew won a pizza party for his class, courtesy of Papa John’s, and Adkins received a $50 Visa gift card from the Edge Guys, Current’s Teacher of the Month sponsor.

Here is Andrew’s winning essay:

A paragraph about Miss Adkins:

If you’re asking who Miss Adkins is, she is the best teacher at St. Simon. She is funny, and she is smart. She makes learning a lot more fun. Miss Adkins also does yoga with us in the hallways and Brain Breaks in the classroom. Some fun stuff we did are: we read two novels, we also have a brand new bouncy ball to sit on for the day and we have slings under our desks for a footrest. She is a really great teacher and I think you would really like her.

Students in grades K-12 are invited to enter Current’s April Teacher of the Month contest. Participants should send a 100-word essay explaining why their teacher should be named Teacher of the Month. Winning students will receive a pizza party for their class, sponsored by Papa John’s. Winning teachers will receive a $50 visa gift card. Essays are due by April 27 and should be emailed to [email protected].
