Larry Hoover is hoping Brunchies regulars from his Zionsville restaurant will make the drive over to Carmel.

The Zionsville restaurant will close its doors Feb. 28 after five years in the Boone Village Shopping Center.

“My lease is up, and I just decided not to renew, just come back to my flagship store,” said Hoover, who owns the business with his wife, Jenny. “It did a good business (in Zionsville) and I’m hoping some of the people will come here, because it’s not that far.”

Hoover said they didn’t want to commit to another lease.

The flagship Brunchies, serving breakfast and lunch menu items, has been in Meridian Village Plaza, 13732 N. Meridian St., in Carmel for 11 1/2 years. The Zionsville restaurant was slightly larger.

Although there has been plenty of turnover in Meridian Village Plaza, and some businesses suffered during the heavy U.S. 31 construction period in 2014, Hoover said the spot has been good to him.

“I have no complaints at all,” Hoover said.

Hoover said the Zionsville restaurant had approximately eight employees.

“I might bring a few of my cooks, that’s it,” Hoover said.

Brunchies is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
