By being on stage, Campbell Kirsh has been able to visit such exotic places as Anatevka, Oz, Wonderland, and even hidden places under the sea. And at age 11, this Carmel youth is about to venture into Egypt from March 9-26 as a member of the Purple Choir in Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

“I fell in love with the show when my dad took me to see it two years ago,” Kirsh said. “I love the songs – and I just couldn’t get them out of my head.  Plus, I just enjoy musical theatre.”

That’s apparent from her ever-growing resume. The Creekside Middle School sixth-grader has appeared in “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Wizard of Oz,” all at Civic Theatre. Her credits also include “Glee!,” “101 Dalmatians” and “Little Mermaid” – at the Memphis JCC in Memphis, Tenn.

“My mom, dad, 10-year-old brother Hudson, and I live in Carmel,” she said. “We were all born here, but we lived for six years in Memphis, Tenn. We’ve been ‘back home’ since the summer of 2014.”

But whether she’s in Tennessee or Indiana, she’s always at home on the stage.

“I love to sing, dance, and act,” she said. “I like to meet new ‘show’ people, because they are always so nice and fun.  I also love to entertain people and express myself.”

Kirsh’s love for the stage is so great that she’s hoping to make it a career.

When she’s not on stage, Campbell enjoys swimming, running, playing basketball, and making videos. She is the daughter of Rob and Amy Kirsh of Carmel.
