Robert D. Thompson, 81, Noblesville, died Feb. 8 at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1935, to Kelly and Gladys (Blankenship) Thompson in Stonega, Va.

Bob served his country for 41 years in the Indiana National Guard and worked for Wholesale/Hall Ro-Cap in Noblesville. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Moose.

Bob is survived by his children, Garnette (Gary) McConnell, Deborah (Thomas) Sizemore, Diane (Steve) Kayse, Trooper (Andrea) Thompson and Jennifer (Lee Roy) Hiner, siblings Lucille Brooks, Doyle Thompson, Betty Godbey, Vernon Thompson, Connie Myers and Patricia Myers, 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Dorothy May Thompson, preceded him in death in 1998, along with three sisters, one brother and two great-grandsons.
