The Fishers Sertoma Club recently conducted its annual Freedom Essay Contest.  Each year, essays on “What Freedom Means to Me” are submitted by area fifth graders.  The following schools participated this year:  Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate, Fall Creek Intermediate, Riverside Intermediate, St. Simon the Apostle, Sand Creek Intermediate and St. Louis de Montfort.

Fishers Sertoma, a non-profit organization, has been making financial donations as well as volunteer work to a vast group of causes and organizations since its charter began in 2001. Dollars raised support organizations such as Prevail, which serves as an advocate for victims of crime and abuse in Hamilton and surrounding counties, and Lutheran Child and Family Services, a non-profit organization which provides care and counsel to enhance the dignity and quality of life and those in need. Fishers Sertoma also makes contributions to the Come to Me Food Pantry, Hear Indiana and provide $1000 scholarships to one student from both Fishers HS as well as Hamilton Southeastern.
