After just a few months in business, Jonathan Byrd’s has pulled out of Grand Park. The restaurant, occupied on the first and second level of the Grand Park Event Center, offered a variety of options such as concessions and more substantial meals for guests between games. The Nest, a 21-and-up sports bar occupying the second level, also was a Jonathan Byrd’s concept. At the end of last month, Jonathan Byrd’s pulled its business from Grand Park.

The upper space has already been replaced by Westfield Restaurant Group LLC, owned by Birch Dalton and Bob Taylor, and Urick Concessions has taken over the lower floor concessions.

“(Jonathan Byrd’s) are no longer operating the restaurant out of the events center. We are speaking to investors and operators to turn it into more of a food court style restaurant,” Communications Director Erin Murphy said.

Murphy said the deal with Westfield Restaurant Group came about very quickly and that a short-term agreement has been established as the parties work toward a long-term agreement.

Representatives from Westfield Restaurant Group and Jonathan Byrd’s could not be reached as of press time.
