Lee R. Nylander, 76, Noblesville, died Jan. 6 at Wellbrooke of Carmel. He was born June 26, 1940, to Stanley O. and Pat (Tostesen) Nylander in Elmwood Park, Ill.

Lee was retired from Broutman & Associates in Chicago, where he had been a vice president for 19 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and his PhD from Loyola University in Chicago. He was a past-president of the Society of Plastic Engineers, a member of the Blatchley Nature Club in Noblesville and a member of Noblesville Baptist Church. He raised prized orchids and was a past-president of the Illinois Orchid Society.

He is survived by his wife, Belva G. Nylander, children Kimberely (Lou) Nylander Herrera and Neil E. (Aliya) Nylander, step-children Lisa (Kurt) Herron, Richard (Kathy) Gigante, Andrew (Shannon) Gigante and Lauren (Matt) Wilkens, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at Noblesville Baptist Church, 1338 E. Pleasant St., Noblesville, with Pastor Seth Leeman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 13. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd., Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held at the church 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
