Mane Bash set for Feb. 25 to benefit Woodbrook Elementary

By Mark Ambrogi

The Woodbrook Elementary School’s Mane Bash serves a variety of key fundraising purposes.

“This year the PTO fundraiser is raising capital to afford new physical education resources, including new soccer goal posts and sensory playground equipment,” Amy Miller said of the fundraiser set for 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at Woodland County Club. “We will also be procuring additional technology hardware for the classrooms, as (Carmel Clay Schools) continues to provide digital learning interfaces for students and teachers. Woodbrook also has a great sense of community, and the PTO funds many opportunities for students, families and the staff to interact outside of learning hours with fun events like Family Fitness Night, family movie nights, a spring color run and the beloved fall carnival.”

Miller, who serves as auction event director, described it as an adult-only night out for parents and staff to get together and enjoy live music by Circuit Thursday, a craft beer tasting hour and good food. The Woodbrook mascot is Leo the Lion, thus the event is named for his mane.

The live auction donations include a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Celebrity Cruise Line; Pacers ball boy and game tickets provided by Finish Line; a fun girls night out for 14 to the salon with wine and cheese from the Bobby Cooper Salon; and a ride to school on a fire truck provided by Carmel Fire Dept. Silent auction items include passes to Mega Cavern in Louisville, tickets to Sky Zone, a birthday party at Monkey Joe’s and restaurant and store options.

“We have been blessed with support from businesses throughout Carmel and surrounding areas and look forward to a fun event for Woodbrook parents to come together to have fun and invest in our school community’s continued success,” Miller said. “I have a team of parents who have stepped up to solicit donations and help pull together the many details of the event from swag bags to party decorations.”

Table wine has been donated by Glazer. People’s Brewery and Sun King will provide a beer tasting hour.

Tickets are $30 each and parents and may be purchased through the Woodbrook PTO site (
