The second season of Entrepreneurship Carmel will begin Jan. 21 at the Carmel Clay Public Library. The series focuses on trending business ideas, fundamentals and new concepts in the economy.

For the first time, two of the six workshops will focus on locally owned businesses and trends specific to Carmel. Last year, more than 275 people attended the interactive series.

This season’s speakers include Saidah Pearsall of Shea BODYWORKS, Bill Higgins of Hoodz and Ronda Crouch of the Small Business Association, among others.

Mark A. Roger of FranNet MidAmerica leads the series with the support of the Indiana Small Business Development Centers. Roger recommends the series to freelancers, franchisers, small business owners and individuals. The series is start-up oriented and covers everything from launching a business to expansion.

“We work the whole track of business ownership,” Roger said.

The series will educate entrepreneurs on winning business ideas and trends for 2017. The series will also help entrepreneurs idenify strategies of business ownership, evaluate new business fundamentals and profit models, explore the teachings of Shark Tank and The Profit and spotlight resources available to start-up entrepreneurs in Indiana.

The first workshop, featuring guest speaker Carmel City Council member Jeff Worrell, is called “Discovering Your Inner Entrepreneur” and will focus on the Carmel marketplace, local business trends and new concepts.

“Owning your own business has come back into vogue,” Roger said.

Workshops are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Carmel Clay Public Library. Workshops are scheduled for Jan. 21, Feb. 21, April 18 and May 16.
