Letter: AirBnb law is coming

0

Editor,

Although your article showed both sides of the situation, it failed to mention that Indiana already has a law, State Enrolled Act 309 that will go into effect July 1, 2017. It applies to homeowners and condo owners who rent their home using a system like Airbnb. Such temporary rental requires a Retail Merchant License, and they must collect and pay all appropriate taxes (just as a hotel).

Meryl Gorge, Carmel
