Specialty store Healer Health LLC will relocate the operations of its recently acquired Hylan Shoe Company to Zionsville. The move will create up to 25 new jobs by 2021.

Healer Health, based in Indianapolis, manufactures specialty performance shoes under its I-Runner brand. In March the company acquired Kentucky-based Hylan Shoe Company, which specializes in therapeutic and diabetic shoes.

“This is just another opportunity for us to expand the types of businesses that are present in Boone County but specifically in Zionsville,” said Molly Whitehead, executive director of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation.

“One of Zionsville’s goals is to shift the tax burden off of residential,” she said. “We need to bring in new businesses and help the existing businesses grow.”

Healer Health will invest $635,000 to open a 10,000-square-foot distribution center in an existing building in the Mayflower Business Park. Operations are expected to launch as early as January, and they will be hiring positions in marketing, warehousing and distribution.

The location will serve as a headquarters, sales, warehouse and distribution facility.

“This is just another good opportunity for a different type of company than we typically see,” Whitehead said. “This is an exciting announcement for us.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Healer Health LLC up to $185,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $40,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. Additional incentives have been approved by the Town of Zionsville

These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.

Zionsville’s Redevelopment Commission approved a $10,000 grant to Healer Health at its November meeting contingent upon a minimum capital investment of $500,000 and relocation occurring by the end of 2017.
