Prairie Pursuits at Conner Prairie: Primitive Fire Starting — No matches allowed here! Learn from experts about several different primitive fire-starting methods such as fire by friction, fire pistons, burning lenses or flint and steel. You will not only get to practice theses skills, but you’ll make your own flint and steel kit and a char cloth. This event is for ages 16 an older; 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 14. Gingerbread House Extravaganza — Begin a holiday tradition by bringing the family to the library to create a gingerbread house that even Hansel and Gretel would be tempted to eat! Holiday Cheers at Conner Prairie — Adults only! Get in the holiday spirit with the third annual Holiday Cheers event, featuring an evening of gourmet hors d’oeuvres, wine, spirits and craft beer, and nighttime revelry in 1836 Prairietown. There are lots of activities and samples to choose from throughout Conner Prairie’s grounds. Breakfast with Santa at Conner Prairie — For the first time in Conner Prairie history, you can join Santa in a song and listen to his beloved rendition of a special Christmas story. As an added bonus, non-members will save $3 on admission to Holiday Adventures with your Breakfast with Santa tickets, and members will get in free. This is the event’s last day of the season. The Carmel Community Players present: “Dad’s Christmas Miracle” — Enjoy a new performance from CCP entitled “Dad’s Christmas Miracle” by Pat Cook. You’ll see the story of Connor Murphy, who wants a go-kart for Christmas in the worst way. His teacher really gums up the works by handing out report cards just before vacation. In his mind, Connor sees everyone ganged up against him and it’s up to Dad to perform the impossible by Christmas morning. This comedy will remind you that hysterical situations and a loving memory of Yuletide are what makes Christmas the best time of the year. This is the last showing. During Glam Jams, guests will tie dye a pillow case, put their hand in cement to make it shine and enjoy a movie with snacks.
