Westfield Police Dept. officers responded to a subject who was possibly the victim of battery at approximately 2:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in a parking lot of the 17200 block of Gunther Boulevard. Upon arriving to the scene, officers found 24-year-old Corey A. Zimmer being treated by Westfield Fire Dept. Zimmer was pronounced dead a short time later and a death investigation has been opened.
It is believed the crime was not a random act of violence. The Hamilton County Prosecutors Office, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are all participating in the investigation.
