The Dude, or at least those dressed like him, will support animal rescue at the Big LeBOWWOWski Charity Cocktail Party at 6 p.m. Dec. 2 at Bites by Confectioneiress. The event will support Helping Pawz Rescue, a nonprofit that works with animals in need of a home.
The theme is “The Big Lebowwski.” The event will include dinner catered by Cobblestone Grill, desserts by Bites by Confectioneiress and “The Big Lebowski”-themed cocktails, including White Russians or “Caucasians,” a tequila-based coffee cocktail called El Duderino and a Concord grape cocktail called “I don’t roll on Shabbos.”
Janelle Morrison, owner of MADD Media Solutions, and Vic Gosnell, owner of Bites by Confectioneiress, teamed up for the event.
Gosnell said Helping Pawz Rescue was recommended to him by Melody Gierbolini, owner and veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital in Plainfield.
Attendees are encouraged to dress as The Dude, Donny or their favorite character from the movie, “The Big Lebowski.” The film will be shown during the cocktail party.
“It’s really just going to be a casual, fun atmosphere where people can come out and enjoy the oddity of theme and know they are giving back to a great cause,” Morrison said.
Representatives from Helping Pawz Rescue will attend with two or three dogs on-site. All proceeds will go directly to Helping Pawz Rescue to help animals in need of medical help.
Art will be sold by Brett Kern, a West Virginia artist known for creating ceramic art that looks inflatable, and Rachel Beltz, a miniature watercolorist.
