Elizabeth Lila (Canfield) Kehlor, 83, Noblesville, died surrounded by her family Oct. 1 at her home at Riverwalk Commons Retirement Community in Noblesville. She was born Dec. 15, 1932 to Robert and Alicia (Rafferty) Canfield in Gilberton, Penn.
Elizabeth graduated from Gilberton Borough High School in 1949, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She also attended nursing school in Gilberton. Elizabeth (Betty) met the love of her life, Gerard (Gerry) Evan David Kehlor, in the summer of 1949 at Hershey Park in Hershey, Penn., where Gerry worked as a lifeguard in the summer prior to beginning his college education at Duke University. Betty and Gerry were later married on Jan. 30, 1954 in Indianapolis, where they eventually settled and raised four children. Betty was a devoted mother, avid golfer and member of the Speedway Ladies Golf League, and her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Bob) Pierson, and grandchildren Bradley, Mack and Shannon Pierson, son Bob (Shari) Kehlor and grandchildren Brian, Yulia, Daria and Nick Kehlor, daughter Ann Marie (Pete) Brucia and grandchildren Evan, Grant and Abigail Brucia, and son David (Eunice) Kehlor and grandchildren Zachary, Rachael and Audrey Kehlor.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by husband Gerry, brother Robert Canfield and his wife Elizabeth.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Rd., Fishers, with visitation beginning at 10 am. A meal will follow the Mass.
