In its ninth year, the MBO16 keeps rising in prominence.

“I think it’s the largest digital marketing conference in Indianapolis,” said Michael Reynolds, president/CEO of Indianapolis-based SpinWeb. “It’s pretty established. Of all the (digital marketing) conferences in the area, this is one of the higher quality ones.”

Reynolds will be one of the keynote speakers at the day-long MBO16 (Masters of Business Online), which is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 15 at The Crane Bay Event Center, 551 Merrill St., Indianapolis. He’ll be joined in his presentation on how business can use podcasting in their marketing strategy with Abby Stearns, SpinWeb’s director of development.

Reynolds, who lives near the Carmel line in Indianapolis, takes pride in making sure his presentations are lively.

“I like to make sure when I’m teaching people we make it fun and we make it interesting, authentic,” Reynolds said. “We have to have fun with our work, otherwise it gets boring.”

Stearns, who lives on the border of Fishers and Lawrence Township, said she and Reynolds are honored to share the stage with some serious thought leaders in the digital marketing and business world.

“Things change so quickly in our industry and it can be hard to keep up with all the changes, but coming to a conference like MBO keeps all of us well informed and ready to tackle the next big task,” Stearns said.

Todd Richardson, founder and chief people officer of Fishers-based Emplify, will speak on how marketing tactics can help build an engaging internal brand.

“I came from a marketing pedigree at ExactTarget and saw first-hand the impact that intentional marketing, when applied to human resources, could have on effective employee engagement and decided to share some of that with everyone,” Richardson said.

After leaving ExactTarget salesforce, Richardson had a consulting company where he focused on employee engagement and helped companies leverage a lot of marketing principles around their HR practices.

“I had that company acquired by Emplify (powered by Blubridge). We are focusing now as a company on many of those same principles and lessons as we implement mobile app  platforms with employers,” Richardson said.
